We are counting down the days until the first day of school.
So much has been accomplished, though all very mundane and uninteresting to the small ones who reside in the little flat amongst the trees.
The bedrooms have been tidied and prepared for the upcoming routine.
All the laundry folded and hung in wardrobes, the dishes scrubbed,, the desks re configured to accommodate our current needs (I do not expect them to stay this way, but I can dream).
We bought a new car.
We bought the school supplies, minus a new backpack and bigger lunchbox for Adeline, she really wants a dinosaur one, dinosaurs are currently her favourite and best, but she is also pretty rough on things so I need to order said backpack, and sturdy ones don't run cheap, honestly around here they are pretty pricy... oh my heart, I am so tired of shopping.
I have caught the fibre-bug, spinning, knitting and crocheting had been a daily constant, and I have recently cleared off my loom in readiness for a new project I keep dreaming about (better this dream than the one I had last night where I ate a whole carrot cake).
I can't wait to start a little stash of finished projects, I have decided to knit, crochet, weave, and spin whatever I like weather or not anyone can use them immediately, I miss baby bonnets and tiny sweaters, no one has given me any reason to make these favourites. I do have a few projects going at the moment but so many are close to completion that I can enter this new adventure pretty freely (Don't worry Bobbie Anne I haven't forgotten your scarf, I haven't found or spun any yarn for the picture I have in my mind, sisters like me are quite tiresome at times, but I warned you it would take me ages... I have a hint of the perfectionist in this area only).
This weekend the weather should turn cool, I've already started trading some more of my ever present water bottle for a constant Tea drinking, I am breaking out those autumn flavours during the day, it TASTES like autumn even if its still hot like summer.
This girl and her two littles are 100% ready for the first day. I am praying for a peaceful and productive school year for my babies, their classmates, and their teachers.
We're ready for you autumn!
