Calm averted

The last few days before summer holidays are quite bitter sweet, my girl and I have sort of a rhythm after Jaime goes to school A nice chill book reading pottering about napping sort of rhythm.  when its about to turn upside down we try to soak up that last bit of alone time and doing "addie and mummy things" (before she was born Jaime and I had this calm sweet time together, I treasure the fact that I get to have this time with Adeline too),  after schools out we have a few weeks of transition while Jaime gets used to being home and miss Addie jane gets used to not being alone,  then we are in those lazy days of summer revealing in the long days with our Bear child.

However my plan for laziness  was not to be. Miss Adeline had so much more fun,  she also had plenty of mischief exploring planned that I was unprepared for! But hey, just keeping things interesting!

We did not plan to go to Jaime's first grade picnic, spending a day outside in 90 degree weather is not my idea of fun especially the walking to and fro (I love a walk I hate being hot and walking because it just takes the life out of me and I dose off the rest of the day) but someone had not been listening that morning and forgot to grab a water bottle, did I mention it was in the nineties!? So we tottled over to were the park was so we wouldn't have a super dehydrated boy at the end of the day, as you can see both children were devastated...Untitled

One incredible added blessing, the park the where the picnic was happens to be right by one of adeline's best friends house, so she was able to spend a few hours with the sweetest Sophia in the entire world, and I was able to hang out with her amazing mum Bobbie Anne who always makes a difficult day better. We left the picnic early made for the air conditioned starbucks/food court and enjoyed an impromptu lunch date... so in the end zero complaints, even in 90 degrees! I think good friends can really turn around a day and I'm glad Addie and I have them.

((Sorry for the silence I wrote this post a few weeks ago, I simply forgot to post them, can you believe it!? Maybe I should put "blogging" on my daily routine))
